Escape to the movies

Saw "American Carol" this afternoon with the Son&Heir and wife. Good fun seeing Micheal What's_His_Name roasted. Excellent performance by Kelsey Grammar as Gen. Patton. Scary brilliant, but too brief, portrayal of George Washington by Jon Voight.

The ACLU lawyer bit with Dennis Hopper and trench sweepers was my favorite gag.

Funniest spot would have been the Rosie parody if she hadn't actually said that stuff in real life. The lines were all straight from her mouth -- my son didn't realize that until after the show. Seriously, you can't make some of this stuff up. You just have to go with what people have actually said.

Cruder than necessary to make it's points and jokes work -- didn't really expect otherwise considering Zucker's previous work. Still, no pangs dropping a few bucks at the box office to support this parody of one of generation's most prolific misrepresenters of truth (how's that for a euphemism?).
